About this Blog

This is a blog specifically for missionary kids. We all have completely different stories and have lived the MK life from different areas of the world. It would seem foolish to even try to unite us on cultural similarities or shared experiences.

While this blog is intended to help MKs with issues such as deputation, furlough, cultural adaptation, saying goodbye, relationships, etc, this blog’s ultimate purpose is to point each and every MK to a higher identity. Spoiler alert! It’s found in Jesus Christ.

About the Writers

I am Darci Snode and I grew up on the wonderful mission field of the United Kingdom. My entire family is American, but as young adults, my parents chose to leave their home in order to start churches in an unknown land. I was born and raised on the mission field until my family and I moved back to the States when I was fifteen years old.

As I meet more and more missionary kids and as I begin to understand some of my own experiences, my eyes are opened to the spiritual need of my fellow labourers. This is a ministry serving those who are always expected to minister.

Maybe your background is similar to mine. Or maybe you moved to the mission field later in life. Or maybe your story is completely different. Regardless, I hope you can find some practical advice in the enclosed blog posts as well as a recognition of who you truly are in Christ.

While I am the primary writer for this blog, there will be a culmination of MKs from all over who will offer advice and stories from their point of view. I am praying that this little ministry may have an impact on your spiritual walk so that you may learn to rest in the Savior. This blog is for you.
